Work experience

10/2017 - present, Warehouse Lead, St John's Food Share, Portland, Oregon

Coordinate volunteers, delegating tasks, training new volunteers, stock shelves and clean before store opens. Open the store, keep volunteers on task, organize the stock room, sort through expired produce for farm composting. Customer service, working in teams with a variety of people from all walks of life.

05/2017 - 08/2017, Extra, Netflix, Portland, Oregon

Worked as an extra in the Netflix show "Everything Sucks". Costumed myself in 1990's style to the great delight of the costumers; I was punctual and dependable, followed instructions. We had long days in the heat, but worked in teams and made the days positive and fun. Built relationships, made connections, and I was one of the few who got called back to help create the show's trailer.

2013 - 2017, Designer/Model, Modified Style Portland, Portland, Oregon

Every year, we chose a bag full of random recycled clothing and fabrics and our challenge is to design and create a garment or garments that can be worn down the runway and hopefully in real life. There is a final fashion show, and I have designed several outfits over the years, including walking the runway in them. We learn about back stage, hair and makeup, working with others for the good of all. The garments get auctioned off at the end of the night and the proceeds go to charities. I have encouraged other youth designers to join, which helped create a much larger youth designer section.

2013 - 2016, Artist, Artsy Anneka, Portland, Oregon

I created my own art - canvas paintings, jewelry, sewn goods, knitted goods. I created a website to sell my art with a blog devoted to my art. I designed business cards to hand out and I learned how to network with others. I set up my booth at craft fairs, school fairs, and street fairs, and art galleries; in addition to selling online. I would go to network events and meet others in business and learn from them.

11/2013 - 03/2014, Co-Manager, Side Street Cafe

Our class started a coffee shop for our business math project. I would show up every morning to make the coffee. My co-manager and I would set up the tent and table, plate the baked goods, and merchandise the product. Our customers were other students and numerous parents dropping their students off for the morning and picking them up in the afternoon. I handled the cash and giving change, managing the other students in the class, and making sure our little coffee stand ran smoothly and efficiently. We successfully raised almost two-thousand dollars in profit in eleven weeks.

03/2014 - 01/2018, Dancer, SusseFusse Dance Troupe, Portland, Oregon

I was a dependable and valuable member or the folk dance troupe called SusseFusse. We learned new dances, and danced in various venues throughout the city and the state. Two summers I was included in the trip to California where we had intensive dance training from teachers all over the world. I had to raise my own money to go, which took me several months to prep, and I did earn some scholarships as well. Through learning at dance camp, I was able become a leader and assist to our troupe back home. I was able to connect with so many people from so many countries and different cultures, young to old, listening to so many stories of their lives.

07/2016 - 07/2017, Salesperson, Stockton Folk Dance Camp Store, Stockton, California

Part of one of my scholarship duties was to work in the thrift shop at Stockton Folk Dance Camp Every afternoon I would go to the shop and sort clothes that had been donated. I organized them, priced them, and merchandised them to create a welcoming shopping environment. I helped customers who came in find wonderful garments that looked great on them. I handled the sales and cash, giving change back. I was dependable, reliable and always showed up on time, took initiative to get things done, with minimal supervision.

After finding the resume, examine each part of it and try to determine why is it good and what particularly may have the recruiters found interesting and implement it to your resume. Of course, do not simply copy and paste all the information, as your resume should be unique and represent the best of yourself, not someone else.

2. List your strengths

On the other hand, you should never include just random skills but ought to always think about what are the hiring managers looking for. Therefore, read the job description multiple times to identify qualities you feel are important for the role and, if you believe you have them, add them to your resume. Finally, don't make this section loo long - 8-9 most relevant strengths are enough and again, don't make the stuff up and only include things that are true.
