I am a passionate and experienced journalist committed to the brilliant potential of social media and its essential role within our LGBTQ community.

Social media is such a powerful vehicle for communication. I see Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as platforms to cultivate change, growth and spread knowledge. Planet Romeo gives the gay community an online resource to connect, communicate and freely express themselves. It is potentially the Facebook of the gay community and could grow to be as intrinsically linked and useful to its users as the Mark Zuckerberg's Social media giant.

In Ireland I worked in Television presenting Irelands first gay TV show. I organised and ran a gay comedy and improv club while also reviewing theatre and culture for online and print magazines, GCN, Totally Dublin and Le Cool. So as you can see my previous experience is multi-disciplined and varied. In all of these roles a conversation across Facebook and Twitter was essential to initially raise awareness of projects as they began but then to continue to breathe life into those very projects and keep them going when the projects went live.

I am well travelled, from Tehran to San Fran. On all of my expeditions, social media and online dating apps were instrumental in enhancing my overall experience of a place and gave me an instant in road with locals to gain information on places of interest, to go on exciting dates and to truly experience the country with its people. Imagine using Grindr in Iran where the penalty for homosexuality is death?

In travelling and in the workplace I am a great leader, kind, patient with excellent listening skills but I can also be a follower willing to learn from others. I am organised and very open minded.

I also play Rugby, I play as a forward with the Lowlanders and have just returned from the Bingham Cup in Nashville Tennessee. 1400 Gay Rugby men and supporters. It was a social media orgasm and the team is already hard at work promoting online to bring the Bingham Cup to Amsterdam in 2018. The team has helped me to feel more at home in Amsterdam and their awareness of branding, social media networking and disciplined training has helped me to enhance my own skills in social media.
