Dear Hiring Manager,
As a senior executive with 12 years of experience in leading and transforming organizations within the electricity and telecommunications industries, I apply with great interest for this opportunity.
In my current role as Director of Halliwell Electric in Ohio, I drive the efficiency, operations, and continuity of an enterprise comprising 600+ employees across 3 locations. When I came on board 3 years ago, Halliwell was close to bankruptcy. I was crucial in steering it back from a flailing company with a $65M deficit and 75% employee turnover to $33M in annual revenue and 93% retention.
I achieved this through ruthlessly analyzing the existing leadership structure, policies, P&L, vendors, and customer feedback. I then designed and implemented robust people and operational strategies, including ambitious goals for growth and performance. I placed emphasis on promoting the company’s culture and vision through comprehensive policies, alongside motivational leadership of department heads. I also renegotiated vendor contracts and reduced unnecessary expenditure.
I believe my success as a leader revolves around being transparent and following my values. I’m not afraid to make decisions urgently, nor am I afraid to take my time when needed - the most important thing is to make a decision I believe in. I’m all about trusting people to do their jobs without micromanagement. I also favor ‘sharing the power’ - delegating tasks based on people’s strengths and interests, and taking into consideration my colleagues’ points of view.
In addition to my leadership experience, I hold an MBA and a Bachelor of Finance. As well as being an efficient and ethical leader with strong business acumen, I excel at people management, negotiations, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. The impression people have of me is that I’m assured, transparent, experienced, and humble.
Please find attached my résumé for your consideration. Thank you very much for your time. I look forward to hearing from you regarding next steps.
