Dear Hiring Manager,

As an Art Teacher with 6 years of experience at high school level, alongside 5 years of professional experience as an Artist and Art Program Coordinator, I apply with enthusiasm for this opportunity.

I am currently the Art Teacher at Findlater High School in Colorado, where I teach Grades 8, 9 and 10.  I am an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about introducing students to a broad range of art media, including painting, drawing, ceramics, printmaking, and sculpture. I aim to ignite a love for art in my pupils by making projects highly enjoyable and developmentally appropriate.  For this reason, I recently introduced digital media into my classes, which has given me good insight into what tech-savvy digital natives find naturally compelling.

Art is my personal passion. Prior to teaching, I exhibited my paintings at the Swan Gallery in Colorado. My work can be viewed at www.candidatename.com. I also organized and led hugely popular children’s art classes, camps, workshops, and family art programs for the gallery. In addition to my artistic and teaching experience, I hold an MFA in Fine Art and a Bachelor of Education.

These experiences have given me a strong understanding of effective course planning, evaluation of student outcomes and assessments, development of effective units of inquiry, and teaching a wide range of age levels and abilities. Creativity is an essential skill in a world where innovation is increasingly putting companies at a competitive advantage. I find it a privilege and pleasure to work creatively with the next generation.

I have enjoyed my time immensely at Findlater High School. As the school has switched to online learning for the next school year, I am seeking an in-person role with an equally-stimulating institution. As I believe teaching and learning are ever-evolving, it would be an exciting opportunity to work with a school at the forefront of pedagogical innovation such as yours.
