Dear Hiring Manager,

As an Assistant Cross Country Track and Field Coach with 10 years of coaching and teaching experience, I apply with enthusiasm for this opportunity.

I began my career as a PE Teacher at Willows Middle School in Ohio. I then relocated to California, where I joined Elite Academy in Los Angeles as PE Teacher before my promotion to Assistant Cross Country Track and Field Coach. In my current role, I instruct over 100 students in the basic skills, strategies, and training necessary to realize individual and team success. The curriculum strives to instil sportsmanship, goal setting, integrity, self-discipline, and teamwork in each individual. 

Furthermore, I create and promote events for the after-school track and field program, which create a sense of school spirit and community between teachers, students, and parents. I also budget and oversee the scheduling, planning, hosting, and promotion of home and away events, including training and monitoring coaches and teams and coordinating equipment and venues. 

In addition to my professional experience, I hold a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Level 2 First Aid with CPR and Anaphylaxis qualification. From a young age I have been an active and avid athlete, with a passion for competitive track and field events at both amateur and professional level. I have participated in 45 marathons so far, and will compete in the Tokyo and Boston Marathons this year.

I have enjoyed my time at Elite Academy immensely. As the school has decided to teach online this year due to the global pandemic, my role is no longer active. I am therefore seeking a stimulating in-person assistant coaching opportunity where I can make a similarly positive impact.
