I am currently the Senior Animal Control Officer at Sunnybank County Council, where I lead a team of 7 in responding to complaints about animal abuse/neglect, as well as emergency police calls. This entails setting traps, removing dead animals, euthanizing animals, and completing paperwork. I am used to dealing with uncontrolled animals, emotional owners, and members of the public. This builds upon my time as an Animal Welfare Specialist at Halliwell Humane Society, where I processed incoming animals, fed them and administered medication, and oversaw the adoption process.

In addition to my experience, I hold a Level 3 Animal Welfare Officer Diploma. My performance reviews reflect my excellent communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills, as well as my ability to quickly defuse tense situations and negotiate satisfactory resolutions. 

I am now eager to return to a shelter-based management role where I may leverage my field and in-house experience to lead the shelter team in ensuring that animals are treated humanely, to promote spay/neuter initiatives, and to ultimately give animals the opportunity to live their best life.
