As a student at New York University majoring in Teaching English 7-12 with a minor in Global and Urban Education Studies, I apply with enthusiasm for the position of Tutor. My educational skills and ability to build a strong rapport with students make me a strong match for this role.

Through my studies and 1 year of private tutoring experience, I have had numerous opportunities to develop my theoretical and applied knowledge of teaching. These include:

• Conducting evaluations and submitting progress reports to Hofstra University's CEAS Saturday Scholars Academy
• Delivering lectures and tutorials in Regents English, and preparing students for middle school state exams
• Working with Master Teachers to create and adapt lesson plans based on students’ learning needs/skill levels
• Developing educational programs and teaching materials that foster student-centered learning
• Collaborating with colleagues on the College Board Youth Advisory Council to implement policies of equity for its suite of assessments
• Revising the SAT answer sheet to reflect a simplistic outline that encourages a better use of testing time
