I have 28 years of nursing experience, with 18 years in the surgical ICU, 4 years in the MICU, and 6 years in pre/post anesthesia. I am an observant, critical thinker who cares for my patients and colleagues. My mother taught me that it is important to do a task right the first time so I do not have to do it again. That is what I try to do, and that is what I teach students and new nurses. I believe you can never know everything so you should not act like you do; instead, ask for help or do research on your own. Knowledge is wealth.

06/1985 - 05/1988, Diploma in Nursing, Cleveland Metropolitan School of Nursing, Cleveland, United States
I wanted to become a nurse after taking care of my grandmother, who died of colon and pancreatic cancer, and after being diagnosed with cancer myself. The nurses who cared for me, were so kind and supportive. I was 18 in Florida with my husband and in-laws, and my family could not afford to be there. Their care meant a lot to me, more then any of them really knew.
