As an Archivist with 4 years of archival processing experience in museum settings, I apply with enthusiasm for this opportunity.

I am currently the Archivist at the Essig Museum of Art & Design, where I process archival material, interpret museum documentation, and develop best practices concerning the processing, preservation, and access of archival material. Prior to this I was the Assistant Archivist at the Alma Hennig Museum, where I completed my thesis on archival practices in Tudor England monasteries. 

Mirroring your requirements, I have a thorough knowledge of DACS, EAD, XML, Dublin Core and MARC, and am an adept user of Archivematica, ArchivesSpace, Excel, and FileMaker. In addition to my professional experience, I hold a BA in History and an MA in Archives & Records Management. I am also a member of the Society of American Archivists.

For me, being an Archivist isn’t a job – it’s a passion. It is far more than sorting through dusty material. It’s about bringing to life real events, people, and objects from our shared past, and ensuring that future generations can directly access their community’s history.

I have enjoyed my time immensely at Essig. As all activities are on hold for at least one year due to the global pandemic, my role is no longer active. I am therefore seeking a stimulating opportunity with another museum where I can make a similarly positive impact.
