As a Literacy Specialist with 5 years of experience in adult education, I apply with enthusiasm for this opportunity.

I am currently a part-time Literacy Specialist at the Sunnybank Institute for Adult Education, where I support 24 students to increase their basic literacy skills. This involves group and individual instruction to support students struggling with learning due to gaps in reading comprehension, fluency, and decoding. I achieve this through assessing their individual needs, providing 1:1 and group lessons, and referring students to intensive tutoring assistance as needed. Interventions are continually monitored using supporting evidence from pre- and post-assessments to determine progress.

In addition to my professional experience, I hold a Bachelor of Education and a Reading Specialist (Adult Literacy) certification.

I have enjoyed my time immensely at Sunnybank.
