Tax examiners are professionals, usually with some form of higher education, who take care of making sure one of the fundamental duties of government gets carried out properly. They review filed tax returns in order to determine whether all items are claimed and are allowed by law. They conduct audits, investigations, evaluate financial information, and keep records on each case. Surely, it is a wide array of tasks, but tax agencies are usually structured in a way that does not make its examiners focus on multiple areas at once.
