Hi there! Almost everything nowadays revolves around the online world — and resumes are no exception.

I’ve tested several personal website builders that turn your resume into a fully functional online website. Why?

Because it can make a huge difference in your job search. Having a personal resume website is easy to share with a single link, looks professional, and gives potential employers a quick overview of your experience and skills.

I wanted to see which platforms are the best, so you don’t have to waste time researching and trying them all.

What is a Personal Website Resume Builder?

A personal website resume builder is a tool that converts your existing resume or LinkedIn profile into a shareable website. Instead of sending a document as an attachment, you get a clean URL you can email, send, or post on social profiles. Most builders offer customizable templates, mobile-friendly designs, and sometimes AI-powered enhancements. Some focus purely on the website aspect, while others integrate additional career tools to support your job search.

Now, let’s dive in and see which tools made the cut!

1. Kickresume

Trustpilot score: 4.6 / 3,120 reviews

My feelings and overview:

Even though Kickresume has the option to turn your resume into a personal resume website, I can’t simply label it as just a “personal website builder” — it’s much, much more than that. One could say it’s a full career toolkit: not only can you build a resume or a cover letter, but you can also polish them, tailor them to specific job descriptions, generate AI-powered interview questions, and even explore your career options with your own personalized career map — all with various AI tools that handle the building, writing, and improving for you. For me, Kickresume became a one-stop hub for everything career-related, including job searching.

But, to get back to the main topic of this blog, setting up my personal website was pretty simple — and free! I imported my LinkedIn profile (though you can easily and effortlessly create a new one from scratch thanks to Kickresume’s AI tools), and once the upload went through, boom — job done. You’ll immediately have your resume available to share externally with your own URL. Or, if you’d like to customize it to fit your style, you can change the template or further tweak the colors, fonts, sizes, etc.

Platform features:

What I liked:

  • All-in-one career toolkit

  • Functional, ATS-optimized templates

  • Large customization options

  • Shareable personal website link

  • AI assistance for writing/rewriting and content suggestions

My cons:

  • Free templates are limited (1 free website template, 7 total)

  • Some creative templates may feel too bold for conservative industries

Pricing:

  • Free: Unlimited resumes & cover letters downloads with 4 basic templates, 1 website template

  • Premium: 19 EUR/month (unlimited access to AI tools & premium features, 14-day money-back guarantee)

  • Half-yearly: 9 EUR/month (53% cheaper than monthly, plus €95 Premium gift vouchers)

  • Free for students & teachers: Up to 6 months of the Premium plan for free

I found it incredibly intuitive — I imported my basic resume, selected a template, and had a functional link for my CV ready to share in no time. 3. VisualCV

Trustpilot score: 3.8 / 174 reviews

My feelings and overview:

VisualCV is a resume, cover letter, and website builder that also offers options to create a career journal and multiple different resume writing services. What I found helpful is that you can create or import your resume and then share it via a link (but this feature is only accessible in their paid Pro plan), but VisualCV also has a dedicated section for website building, allowing you to create your personal resume website in a more enhanced way. They offer 5 different templates to begin with, and with a free version, you are able to create one personal website. If you don’t fancy any of VisualCV’s pre-made backgrounds, you can upload your own, customize the layout, content, and tweak it to fit your style.

Platform features:

  • Online resume, cover letter, and website resume creator

  • Adjustable features

  • Multiple resume versions

  • Customizable templates

What I liked:

  • Dedicated personal website building section

  • Lots of customization options

  • 5 templates to choose from in the free plan

  • Performance analytics and resume examples

  • Live preview mode

  • Resume writing services

  • Career journal where you can write your own entries to track your progress

My cons:

  • Only 1 personal website per free account

  • Limited free features

  • First-time users may find it slightly too complex

  • Shareable link only available in the paid plan

  • Documents downloadable only as PDF (other options available in the Pro plan)

Pricing:

  • Free: One resume, one cover letter, one personal website

  • Pro: $16/month (includes premium templates, additional features, and unlimited downloads)

4. EnhanCV

Trustpilot score: 4.6 / 711 reviews

My feelings and overview:

EnhanCV is another resume-building platform, focusing on creating both a polished PDF or TXT resume and a simple online version with a shareable URL. From my experience, it was straightforward to use (I uploaded my pre-made resume), making it easy to edit and enhance by visually guiding me and pointing out sections requiring improvements. While it doesn’t offer the full suite of career tools that Kickresume does, nor dedicated personal website-building templates and sections, it’s a solid choice for users who want a visually clean resume created quickly and relatively easily.

Platform features:

  • Modern, visually clear resume & cover letter templates

  • Shareable online resume link

  • Job Application Tracker

  • Sections for skills, achievements, and professional highlights

  • Variety of resume examples with filters

What I liked:

  • Easy to use and intuitive

  • Clean and professional templates

  • Non-aggressive upgrade options

  • Job-application tracker with basic analytics to monitor views

  • Resume examples

My cons:

  • Some features require a paid subscription

  • No dedicated website building sections

  • No personal website templates

  • Free plan has limited resume templates and customization options

  • Limited AI career toolkit

  • More expensive than some other resume builders

Pricing:

  • Free: Basic templates and shareable resume link

  • Premium: Around 28 EUR/month (discounts for longer subscriptions, full access to templates & analytics)

5. Rezi.ai

Trustpilot score: 4.4 / 169 reviews

My feelings and overview:

Rezi is known for AI-powered resume optimization and now also allows you to create a shareable online resume. You can import your existing CV, tweak it with AI suggestions, and publish it with a URL (a custom URL is a Pro-only feature). While my free experience was fairly limited due to locked AI features, Rezi can serve as a practical option for creating a professional resume. However, the main topic of this article is personal website building, and from this point of view, Rezi felt restrictive, as it offered only a very basic shareable link.

Platform features:

  • AI-powered resume builder

  • Import existing resumes or build from scratch

  • Shareable online resume link

  • ATS optimization

  • Suggestions and content improvement

What I liked:

  • Easy to generate a shareable link

  • AI guidance for optimized resumes

  • Clean, simple interface

  • A lot of AI features useful for resume optimization and improvements

  • Sample library (with some resume samples only accessible in the paid version)

  • AI interview preparation

  • Dedicated job search

  • “Talk to other users” section, which serves as a forum with user-created topics and comments

My cons:

  • Limited visual customization

  • Only 3 document downloads per free account

  • Focused on resume content, not website design

  • Many AI features require a paid subscription

  • Cover letter creation is only available after upgrading to a paid subscription

  • Limited career tools

  • Can be pricey compared to alternatives

Pricing:

  • Free: Basic resume creation, ATS optimization, shareable link

  • Premium: 29 EUR/month or discounted yearly plan (includes AI suggestions, advanced templates, and analytics)

Conclusion

Each of these platforms offers unique ways to create a professional online presence.

If I were to sum it up very briefly, I’d say that:

  • Kickresume – all-in-one, user-friendly career toolkit with resumes, cover letters, AI tools, interview preparation, and personal website creation with multiple templates
  • FlowCV – perfect for minimalist, fast setups, allowing users to generate their unique link for an online resume pretty much effortlessly and swiftly

  • VisualCV – multiple personal website templates to choose from with customization options, and an option to share your resume via a link

  • EnhanCV – easy to create a resume, analytics for tracking views, you’ll get your unique URL link relatively quickly

  • Rezi.io – simple shareable online link, more advanced AI content improvements, and suggestions

No matter which platform you choose, turning your resume into a shareable personal website is certainly a powerful and interesting way to stand out. Every platform has its pros and cons, and at the end of the day, it’s up to you to decide which one suits you best.

I hope this blog helped you get a closer look at some of the options — and now, good luck building your own personal website!
