Head of Data Science at Tesorio

We’re looking for a talented leader for our small but mighty data team to help us ideate, design, and implement impactful data-driven features and reinvent how complex financial transactions can be simplified to the click of a button.

We are developing machine learning algorithms to understand business cash needs, predictive algorithms to forecast future cash flow, and a sleek UI/UX to make our products enjoyable to work with. You’ll be joining an early-stage company with a small, tight-knit team, backed by top-tier VCs (including First Round, Floodgate, Fuel and Y Combinator). About You

• [Modeling / ML] Excited by solving hard technical statistical modeling and machine learning problems. Constantly stretching your toolbox of capabilities. Specific experience or knowledge in forecasting a big plus.
• [Strategy] Adept at partnering with product and engineering leadership to establish a clear strategy for data driven products and features
• [Product Experience] Enjoy building data products that elegantly leverage math/stats/machine learning to delight customers.
• [Hands on] Experience (preferably in AWS) deploying large-scale, production machine learning systems. Proficient with production code delivery in our current stack, which includes Astronomer/Airflow, S3, Snowflake, DBT, python, sci-kit learn, and Metabase
• [Startup mindset] Enjoys working on challenges in a fast-paced startup environment and delivering value to customers and to our business

Ideal Candidate

• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred
• 8+ years of work experience, including 2+ as a manager of DS/ML in a strategic role
• Excited to lead a small but highly impactful and strategic team
• Player-coach who can make an impact either as a hands-on contributor or as a manager for their team
• Expert at translating strategy and ideas into concrete deliverables to move the needle for the business
• Strong communications skills
• Solid understanding of forecasting with time series / machine learning / deep learning techniques and tabular data

• [Visualization] Help our users get deeper understanding of their customers based on their payment profiles
• [Predictive] Build large scale models with top banking partners to enable their customers to forecast and understand their cash flow
• [Visualization] Discover trends in how companies are growing and understand their financial situation
• [Language models] Leverage GPT language models to improve efficiency for our customers (e.g by performing sentiment analysis and suggesting email responses).
• [Matching/Recommendation] Enable customers to automatically match payment transactions from various data sources
