Software Validation Engineer at Linaro

Seeking an experienced engineer with work with a client triaging software issues from multiple sources. Issues are to be resolved or prioritized and assigned to appropriate engineering staff for resolution. Responsibilities include monitoring known issues, reviewing issue resolution progress based on priority and service level objectives and escalating issues as required. Responsibilities may also include maintaining and extending their in-house automation and validation systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with C++. Python, Java and bash shell scripts, along with a working knowledge of Linux kernel development methodology.

Linaro teams are distributed geographically so you will need to be self organized, communicate well in English both written and oral form, be flexible and willing to adapt to the processes in place in order to meet the project’s goals and attend meetings with global participants.

This is a very important role working with a well known and highly respected tech company. The work indirectly impacts billions of consumers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analysis and triage of issues reported from various sources
• Reproducing or bisecting breakages as required.
• Resolving or assigning issues to others for resolution
• Escalation of issues to technical leads as required
• Improvements to infrastructure and tests

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience with C, C++, Python, Java
• Experience with bash shell scripting
• Proficiency in problem solving and debugging
• Ability to self organize and prioritize tasks
• Work quickly and deal with many incoming issues

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience with Linux kernel development
• Experience with CI/CD systems, automation, and best practices
• Ability to learn quickly

Travel:

This position includes attendance at Linaro Connect events twice a year.

May also require brief travel to member sites on rare occasions.
