Senior Full Stack Engineer (Front End Emphasis) at Grain

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the following:

• Deliver new features to improve our product experience and help Grain grow and deliver its product strategy. You’ll do this by…
• Working closely with Product and UX to propose, define, scope, plan, and implement new features with a focus on iterative development.
• Breaking down work for yourself and other engineers, and lead the implementation of projects.
• Creating high-quality, maintainable code, and help others do the same through mentoring and code reviews.
• Understand our customers and contribute your perspective to product decisions.
• Share your ideas to help us improve our engineering processes and culture.
• Work with other technical leaders to define and prioritize internal improvements such as tackling tech debt or adopting new technologies.

We’re still a relatively small team, and you’ll have the opportunity to make a big impact on our product and culture.

😄 We’re excited about candidates who have:

• 5+ years of front-end experience building web apps using modern front-end frameworks and tooling in a cross-functional environment (Product, Design, QA, etc.). We’re specifically looking for candidates with experience with React and Typescript. Experience with Electron and GraphQL is a plus!
• 2-3 years of backend experience (or backend in a full-stack role). Bonus if you have exposure to Elixir or are excited to learn it.
• Experience in and a passion for growing startups. You want to win by building an insanely great product that changes how businesses operate worldwide.
• A collaborative approach to writing software, and a growth mindset! We’re a highly collaborative team across Engineering, Product, and Design. We’re always asking how we can do better as a team. If you have experience using product data to guide or advocate for decision-making, we’d love your perspective to help us build our product.
• Excellent communication skills. We’re a fully remote team across four continents, so strong synchronous and asynchronous communication is essential.
• Strong ambition for and a track record of personal growth.
