Senior UI Designer at Ahana

We’re looking for a Senior UI Designer to oversee, lead and create new components and patterns that are scalable, user-accessible and meet the needs of our customers.

What You’ll Do Everyday

• You’ll lead design for the whole Ahana Cloud product. This includes driving the future vision of the Product, making sure it compliments a cohesive overall Ahana Cloud experience, and delivering on incremental steps to help the team head in this direction.
• You’ll be responsible for all design artifacts produced; from initial discovery and user journey mapping through to the execution of final UI design details.
• You’ll collaborate regularly using strong communication, documentation and facilitation skills. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Marketing and Technical Writers to make sure that you aren't just shipping great designs, but that everyone is deeply involved throughout the design process.
• You’ll execute (and advocate for) polished, intuitive and accessible user experiences. You’re pragmatic and able to balance the ideal experience with knowing where and when to make scoping trade-offs based on technical constraints, experimentation strategy or business risk.
• You’ll help raise the bar for design at Ahana. We’re a small but mighty team where everyone plays a critical role in improving our community of practice.
• You’ll regularly work with Product managers. This is to help make sure long-term strategy, business goals and experience quality are all in alignment and that there are healthy opportunities for visibility and feedback.

What’s required from the Senior UI Designer

• Experience working as a UI/UX designer in a fast-paced environment as a part of an agile team.
• Extensive familiarity with designer/developer workflow
• A genuine desire to work within the Data Analytics space
• Highly beneficial - experience designing B2B SaaS application
• Highly beneficial - experience designing Data Analytics application

The Software we currently use

• Sketch is used to create the design assets
• Abstract is used for version control, developer handoff and commenting on the design
• Notion to capture the Product requirements where the design would be embedded
• Productboard to capture Features, Insight and the Product Roadmap

What to expect from our hiring process

• Initial call (30 minutes). A video chat with a the Chief Product Officer. This focuses on general suitability and fit for Ahana.
• Case study (30 minutes+). We'll ask you to pre-record and send us a 20-minute video of you walking through a recent project that demonstrates your end-to-end design process and deliverables. A Product manager will watch this before joining you for a 30-minute 1:1 call to ask follow up questions, digging deeper into your process and work.
• Final round (2 hours). This involves three interviews covering craft, impact and teamwork. These typically happen on the same day via separate video calls. The case study video is used as a reference for these interviews to help set context for us, and save you time repeating yourself.
